| The story behind Amber
Waves The beginning of Amber Waves dates back to the early 1970s when Wendel Allen was busy working for the U.S. Secret Service as a can-do, do-all executive. The constant travel (mainly within the U.S.) often left Wendel constipated. There had to be a healthy long-term solution to this problem. While attending a gathering at a Chesapeake Bay crab house, he heard a man talk about the health benefits of taking spoonfuls of wheat bran with water or juice. Wendel soon began a bran and fiber regimen, which eventually led to the creation of a fiber formula. Over the years, wheat bran was combined with other ingredients, resulting in a fiber formula. The formula became even more important as Wendel realized that there was a colon cancer risk within his family. Then, Wendel Allen, Jr., a graduate of James Madison University with a BS Degree in Health Science and Biology, conducted research on fiber and experimented with various fiber combinations and developed the current Amber Waves Fiber Formula. |
